York Workman Has Wallet Stolen from Van

York police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an electrician’s wallet was stolen from his van.

The victim, a 51-year-old local man, was working on traffic lights at the junction of Poppleton Road and Boroughbridge Road at around 12pm on Thursday 11 July 2013, when his wallet was taken from his works van which was parked next to him.

The suspect left the scene on a small BMX stunt bike, with the victim, who was wearing bright orange overalls, running after him shouting for him to stop.

Officers believe there were a number of people around who will have witnessed the incident and are urging them to get in touch.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Nicola Elliot or York police.
