There have been 20 collisions reported today which are classed as damage-only incidents.
There have been 22 reports of Highway disruption.
Four collisions have been classed as minor and five classed as serious incidents.
12.00am: A red Citroen taxi was recovered after overturning on the A1 at Catterick. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the central reservation, blocking lane one of the carriageway. The incident caused some disruption to passing traffic, however nobody was injured in the collision.
8.55am: A collision occurred between a blue Land Rover Discovery and a white Mercedes Sprinter van on Burton Fleming Road in Hunmanby. The adverse weather conditions caused the Land Rover to hit the back of the van and spin out of control. As a result of the incident there was some disruption to traffic flow, however the scene was clear at 10am. There were no injuries in the collision.
9.05am: A blue Renault panel van and a blue Vauxhall Zafira were involved in a collision at Bishop Monkton near Harrogate. The driver of the Zafira, a 39-year-old woman from Ripon, suffered a minor neck injury in the collision and was taken to Harrogate District but has since been released. The road was blocked while the vehicles were recovered, however the scene was clear at around 11.20am.
15.30pm: A three-vehicle collision involving a red Toyota Corolla, a black Kia Sorento and a silver Mazda 121 occurred on the A684 near Bedale. The driver of the Kia, a 40-year-old local man suffered minor whiplash injuries but did not require hospital treatment. The collision caused some disruption to the flow of traffic, however the road was clear at 4.50pm.
There was a further collision on the same stretch of road around the same time involving a yellow Peugeot 306 and red Suzuki Swift. There were no injuries sustained in the incident
4.15pm: A Mercedes articulated lorry jack-knifed and hit the central reservation on the southbound carriageway of the A1 near the Masham turn-off. The lorry’s tail lift was detached and lane was blocked as a result. There was some damage to the central barrier but the driver was uninjured.
