Drax Could Get New Power Plant
8:26am 16th July 2013
A thousand new jobs could come to Drax as a new power plant is put forward.
The White Rose station would provide electricity to six-hundred-and-thirty-thousand homes.
Ninety percent of the pollution would be captured and buried under the North Sea, say Captive Power, a consortium comprising of Drax, Alstom and BOC Linde.
If planning consent is gained, construction could start by 2016.
A public exhibition is being held at Selby Town Hall today (16th July) and tomorrow (17th July) at the Junction in Goole from 2pm until 8pm.
