The latest plans for the new Abbey Leisure Centre are being unveiled today at a special 'information day' in Selby town centre.
Between 8.30am and noon councillors and staff from WLCT, the organisation that delivers leisure services on behalf of the Council, will be manning a stall in the town's Market Place. This will give shoppers and visitors to the town a chance to view the latest information about the development of the site.
And between 4.30 and 7pm, the stall and councillors will move on to showcase the plans and drawings at the studio at Selby Town Hall. The latest artists' impressions will be available showing how the development is expected to take shape.
Deputy leader of the Council, Councillor Gillian Ivey explained, "This is an opportunity for members of the public to come along and find out in more detail about what we have planned for the new leisure centre site.
"We will have detailed information and photographs available to show how the new leisure centre could look and we will be on hand to answer questions or concerns members of the public may have about the development," she added.
The planning application is due to be considered by the Council's planning committee on 31 July. Copies of the artists' impressions will also be available on the council's website from Monday 15 July. And the information will again be made available at the next round of Community Engagement Forums, due to take place in the autumn. More information about these dates can be found by visiting www.your-community.org.
