York Design Awards Honours City's Iconic Buildings

City of York Council's new West Offices are among those to have been honoured at the York Design Awards.
St Martin’s Clock and Holgate windmill both won an award for their conservation work at the ceremony last night.
Judge Janet Hopton explains why the transformed train station won an award for the City of York council:
Holgate Mill and St Martin's Clock on Coney Street both won conservation awards.
Winning the award for renovation/reuse was 69 Bootham and the Old Chapel at Fulford.
The conservation award went to the West Offices and the Canopy. The Lord Mayor's Award went to an urban design for a group of buildings, including the West Offices and the Canopy, Hampton by Hilton Hotel and the Landscape Courtyard.
The Press People's Award went to the Derwenthorpe Phase 1.
