Young Fans to Get Special Area at York Racecourse Little Mix Concert

York Racecourse

5:35pm 21st June 2013

York Racecourse is delighted to launch a special area to help younger fans of Little Mix to enjoy both their raceday and then the live concert on Saturday 27 July.

To be known as the “Little Mixer Club”, this free upgrade (subject to availability) will combine an exclusive lawn located behind the stage during the afternoon, with a dedicated viewing space for the evening music.

Intended for the enjoyment of racegoers aged under sixteen and their families, the reserved area for the afternoon will sell appropriate drinks and treats like ice cream as well as providing seating, wet weather shelter and televisions that will show music and shows popular with racegoers aged under 16, during the day.

It will be located in the Bustardthorpe Extension, behind the music stage itself, so there will be a choice of more substantial things to eat as well as betting and bar facilities for the accompanying adults.

A dedicated viewing area for the concert itself will be part of the club.

As a bonus for fans of the band, everyone who registers for the Little Mixer Club will be entered into a Free Prize Draw for a chance to meet and greet with the band members themselves during the afternoon. Little Mix merchandise will also be available to purchase.

Speaking about the Little Mixer Club, Amy Swales, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager said “we understand that Little Mix have some younger fans so we wanted to create a special day for them and their parents. The idea is to offer some space away from the hustle and bustle of the main betting ring and public bars. Younger racegoers will be able to enjoy the afternoon with their friends and family, perhaps watching some TV between the races. Mum and Dad can relax knowing that they have a reserved area to watch the concert at the end of proceedings”.

Entry into the Little Mixer Club is free of charge however the adults will need to have booked both their own admission in advance and to have registered for the Club. As places are limited, racegoers are encouraged to book quickly at www.yorkracecourse.co.uk.  A number of places have been allocated to customers who have already booked for what is proving a popular event, they are asked to contact to the Advance Bookings Office to register for their places on 01904 620911 or by email to bookings@yorkracecourse.co.uk

The Little Mixer Club is intended for younger racegoers and their accompanying adults to enjoy their day, it is not a crèche facility and the adults will remain responsible for the children.

As space is limited, please reserve a place for all members of your party who will need access to the lawn and reserved viewing. If some members of your party intend to view the concert from elsewhere, please leave the places available for those who are younger and would benefit most from them.

Admission to the reserved lawn will be by an advance tickets, this ticket will be exchanged for a wristband that grants admission to the dedicated viewing area. All tickets will need to be exchanged for wristbands by 4pm on raceday.

The Little Mixer Club is a free upgrade available on registration to racegoers who have booked any of Hospitality,  County Stand or Grandstand and Paddock in advance. It is not available to those in Course Enclosure.

It is expected that the Club will be sold out in advance however limited admission based on returns may be available on the day.

The club lawn, wet weather cover and viewing area will be available for general admission for the Kaiser Chiefs raceday and concert on Friday evening 26 July.
