About 104.7 Minster FM

Minster FM launched on the 4th of July 1992, and has been a central part of North Yorkshire life ever since.

We broadcast 24 hours a day from our York studios, across an affluent area, taking in York itself, as well as Tadcaster, Pickering, Malton, Easingwold, Pocklington, and Selby.

Over half of all local people listen to Minster FM*

51% of Local People ListenOur daily mix of great songs, local news, community information, competitions and entertainment pulls in a huge daily audience, making us the number one commercial media in the area. In fact, with 158,000 listeners, that means more than one in two people in our area listen to us.*

Our mix of programming attracts a wide demographic, but is aimed primarily at a family audience which enjoys a great mix of popular music from the 1960s to the present day.

158,000 Listeners

A part of the local community

We don’t confine ourselves to our studios, and can regularly be seen out across the area, getting involved in community events and supporting local activities, charities and initiatives.

Plus, unlike many other radio stations nowadays, we’re 100% local, with no programming networked from other parts of the country.

We’re totally dedicated to North Yorkshire. That’s why we’re the area’s number one commercial media choice.
